Enel Green Power has commenced operations on the 36MW Coulonges wind facility located in the Poitou-Charentes region in France.
The wind facility consists of 18 wind turbines, each with a generating capacity of 2MW.
The power project will produce 90 million kWh per year, meeting the annual energy needs of approximately 27,000 households.
The company said the energy produced by the power plant will avoid the emission of 70,000 tons of CO2.
The Coulonges wind farm is located in the municipalities of Coulonges-Thouarsais, La Chapelle-Gaudin, Noirterre, in the Deux Sevres department (Poitou-Charentes).
Enel Green Power is engaged in developing and managing energy generation from renewable sources.
