Oil and gas exploration company, Falkland Oil & Gas Limited has announced that the ‘Humpback’ exploration well was spudded this week.
The Humpback well is located in a water depth of approximately 1,260m and is expected to reach a total depth of 5,350.
The Falkland Oil & Gas Ltd company has focused its extensive licenses to the north, south and east of the Falkland islands, and the Humpback well itself situated within a cluster of similar projects in the Fitzroy sub-basin. This area has a combined total potential reserve of over one billion barrels of oil.
The well is expected to take around 65 days to drill.
