02 Aug 2011

Spanish wind farm developer Gamesa has sold two Greek wind energy projects with a combined installed capacity of 38MW to Enel Green Power.

The 24MW Zoodochos Pighi and the 14MW Panaghia Soumela wind farms are located in the areas of Kozani and Veria, respectively, in the Macedonia region of Greece.

Developed and built by Gamesa's wind farm development and sales division, the power projects are equipped with 19 units of the Gamesa G87-2MW turbine.

The facilities are expected to generate enough electricity to power more than 16,000 households per year.

Gamesa said it has a further 25.5MW of wind assets under construction in Greece, in addition to a project portfolio totalling 965MW at varying stages of development.
