German turbine group, Vensys commissions 2.5MW machines

10 Oct 2013
Vensys, the German turbine group have commissioned its 2.5MW machines on high towers for the first time. The company believes this places them in an advantageous position to challenge compatriot Enercon in the onshore wind market.

Vensys is majority owned by and supplies technology to China’s Goldwind, and has said that the first 2.5MW direct-drive Vensys 112 turbines have been installed at a hub height of 140 meters.

The turbines at the Titting wind farm near Eichstaett, Germany, are installed on concrete/steel hybrid towers supplied by Max Boegl Wind.
