Employment in the construction sector across the UKgrew by its fastest rate in 13 years last month, according to the Ulster Bank construction purchasing managers’ index.
The report noted that the growth was fueled by new building projects and increased activity in the housing sector.
“The key highlight from the latest survey was a near-record rise in employment as companies responded to greater workloads,” the report stated.
“The rate of job creation was the second-fastest in the survey’s history, just behind the record seen in November 2004. Approximately 27 percent of respondents signalled a rise in staffing levels during the month.”
