Half a billion solar panels pledged by US presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton

28 Jul 2015

America’s Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, has announced her ambitions to increase US reliance on renewable energy, with a particular focus on solar power.

Clinton has pledged to have more than half a billion solar power panels installed nationwide within four years of taking office, should she win the election in 2016.

This would lead to a 700% increase in the country’s installed solar capacity.

In addition to this, she pledged that the US would generate enough clean renewable energy to power every home in the country within 10 years of taking office.
