Hoidi International, the Singaporean-based offshore engineering and construction company, has been awarded a rig leg fabrication and construction contract from China Merchant Heavy Industry (CMHI) for the Vanda Offshore CJ50 400 feet jack-up.
The contract involves the fabrication installation, erection and construction of a complete set of legs for Vanda Offshore Gusto MSC CJ50-X120-E, a jack-up with the maximum operating depth of 400ft and drilling depth of 30,000ft.
The delivery is set to be completed in the first quarter of 2016.
The CJ50 jack-up rig’s main component, rack and chord, will be made up of EQ70 special grade steel that will allow it to operate in -20 °C waters, making it suitable for North Sea usage.
This project marks the fourth CJ50 leg construction contract won by Hoidi Group this year, and the 17th jack-up construction offshore engineering contract since 2013.
