Hyundai Rotem wins $316m contract to build train units in Turkey

South Korea’s Hyundai Rotem Co., has won a $316 million deal to supply subway trains to the City of Instanbul, Turkey.

The company will deliver 300 units of unmanned electric trains for the Instanbul metro.


This project is expected to be Turkey’s largest-ever rolling stock deal, and attracted global attention from leading train makers from Korea, China and Europe to bid for the contract. Hyundai Rotem secured the deal based on its strong reputation and positive track record of projects and local production facilities.
