India to build a 10-Mw solar power plant

The Indian government of Odisha is in the process of commissioning a 10 megawatt solar power plant.

The plant is expected to launch this month and Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd (BHEL) will be the contractor of the project. 

BHEL will additionally monitor and maintain the plant over the next 10 years.

The Odisha government has confirmed its renewable energy targets and is aiming to add 3,000 Mw of renewable energy capacity by 2022 and plans to generate 2,300 Mw in solar sector.
