12 Jan 2016

The government of Indonesia is seeking to inject considerable investment into renewable energy facilities in an effort to achieve forecasted renewable energy targets.

The Indonesian government is eager to set up a new utility that will be responsible for procuring electricity from regionally based renewable energy projects. According to officials, the proposed facility would supply electricity to the industry and end users.

Additionally, Indonesia’s largest solar power plant has been completed 6 months ahead of schedule. The plant was constructed by PT. LEN Industri and the system is expected to supply up to 5 MW in electricity.

These various energy saving projects signify Indonesia’s commitment to cutting its greenhouse gas emissions by 29% by 2030.
