Iran petrochemical revenue hits $5.5bn over six-month period

Iran exported $5.57 billion worth of petrochemical and polymer products in the first six months of the current fiscal year, were up $1.2 billion compared to last year. 

According to the National Petrochemical Company’s (NPC) official news agency, exports are expected to hit a new annual record, as oil continues to trade close to $50 a barrel across international markets. 

“Sales in domestic markets increased by 7% in terms of volume and 12% in terms of value,” saidAli Mohammad Bosaqzadeh, deputy for production control at NPC. 

Over the six-month period, 15 major Iranian petrochemical companies met or surpassed their export targets, according to NIPNA.
