Isolux Corsan has secured a contract worth about EUR244.58m for construction of a 340MW combined-cycle power station in Siddhirganj, Bangladesh.
The power project, which was awarded by the Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh, will be implemented over a period of 30 months.
Electricity generated by the facility will be transmitted through a 230kV line to the national grid.
The Spanish firm will also execute the connection of the power station with the existing gas network in the area.
This contract is part of the Bangladesh Energy Development Plan launched by the government to achieve the electrification of the entire country in 2020.
