KCA Deutag has created 300 offshore drilling jobs, as the company looks to operate two of its new category J class jackup drilling rigs.
The company signed with Statoil to operate the two drilling rigs in 2013 for an intial 8 years at a deal value worth $900 million.
“Approximately 150 offshore personnel per rig will be required," said a Spokeswoman from KCA Deutag. "Some of these personnel are already employed either as part of the organisation which supports the building process or in preparing the rigs for operations. In addition, we will also need to recruit operational personnel onshore.”
