Malaysia awarded coal-fired power plant job in Bangladesh

Malaysia has won a contract to build a 1,320MW coal-fired power plant in Bangladesh for an estimated cost of $2.5 billion. 

Malaysia and Bangladesh signed a Government-to-Government memorandum of understanding (MoU) to implement the project in 2014. 

The MoU will act as a guide for the Malaysian consortium to finance and build the power plant in Maheshkhali, Coxs Bazar, Bangladesh with the Bangladesh Power Development Board.
