Texan based Navasota Energy is looking to build three 543 megawatt, natural gas-fired power plants.
These three simple-cycle peaking power plants are located in Grayson County, Guadalupe County and Wilson County and each will contain two or three 181 megawatt turbines.
The turbines will be built by General Electric, with construction expected to take approximately 12 months, entering service in early 2017 in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas power grid.
The demand for power in the region has been outgrowing that of construction of new generating capacity, with the power grid serving the majority of Texas.
The construction phase will create up to 75 jobs and four direct jobs will be required to open the facilities.
