Following funding from a government-backed public-private sector partnership Rolls-Royce have opened up a new factory in Bristol.
The factory is part of the company’s SILOET programme which focuses on the development and introduction of low-carbon aircraft engine technology.
Justin Dalton, chief project engineer at Rolls-Royce, talking about the technology said: “It’s novel technology that embeds the electrical harness within a composite raft structure. It’s one of a number of technologies that Rolls-Royce is developing.”
The facility currently employs 20 staff with this number expected to double next year.
