Crompton Greaves Ltd has announced it will be opening a new smart meter facility in France.
The new project will be based in Grenoble and will be used to produce, test and calibrate over 2 million ZIV smart meters a year. The facility will help boost local employment, as 200 jobs become available once full production capacity is reached.
Crompton Greaves recently won a contract from ERDF to help supply three million Linky smart meters, in the first phases of ERDF’s 35 million meter roll out for 2021.
This project will go towards supplying the demand for these smart meters in France, and the Linky programme alone is expected to create 10,000 jobs in France.
