New York awarded with $206m for renewable energy projects

21 Nov 2014
The state of New York has been awarded with $206 million for several large-scale renewable energy projects.

The awards, which were announced by Governor Andrew Cuomo, have been given to four large-scale clean energy projects that will help generate more energy via clean resources and subsequently reduce emissions.

The wind and hydroelectric projects will bring 164MW of clean energy to the electric grid. Included in the projects are two large wind farms, a hydroelectric project and a small hydroelectric upgrade at an existing dam.

The projects reinforce the state’s efforts to improve the energy infrastructure and deliver a clean, reliable energy supply.
