Novelis has unveiled a $150 million automotive finishing line which will add 250 jobs at the company’s Oswego, New York plant.
The new finishing will be used to manufacture aluminium alloys for Ford’s newest f-150 pick up truck.
Novelis’s Oswego plant is the largest producer of aluminium in the United States and in the last five years has added 450 jobs to keep up with demand.
"A number of automakers are looking to meet the new standards,they're looking to improve their performance so they're looking for the opportunity to lighten their automobiles and they're looking for aluminum to be able to do that." said Kevin Schutt, Novelis Plant Manager.
