The state of Ohio added 700 construction jobs in January. According to the Associated General Contractors of America, Ohio went from 206,600 construction jobs in December to 207,300 the following month.
“Construction remains vibrant in nearly every state and is adding workers at a faster clip than other industries in much of the country,” said Ken Simonson, chief economist for the association. “Contractors report they are optimistic that demand for construction will continue, but they worry about finding enough qualified workers.”
Strong overall economic growth across the state has been the main cause for the increase in jobs within the construction sector.
