Oil and Gas Authority body set up in energy capital, Aberdeen

16 Jun 2014
A new agency is being set up in Aberdeen, with an aim to increase collaboration across the oil and gas industry.

The independent Oil and Gas Authority body has come to fruition following a recent review of the sector, which was carried out by businessman Sir Ian Wood.

The Oil and Gas Authority will attempt to encourage economic production in the UK and provide sustainable long-term support for the industry.

Aberdeen is regarded as Europe’s oil capital and the Scottish government were passionate about the new regulator being headquartered in the region.
