Oil and gas discovered in Côte d'Ivoire by RAK Petroleum

Oslo-listed oil and gas investment company, RAK Petroleum has discovered oil and gas from the Turonian and Lower Senonian intervals in the Marlin North-1 wells.

They have been drilled by Foxtrot International offshore in Côte d'Ivoire.

In the Turonian column, the gas flowed at a stabilised rate of 25 million cubic ft per day and the oil at 150 barrels per day. In the Lower Senonian, an 11-m perforated section of the oil bearing column flowed at a stabilized rate of 1,525 barrels per day of 27-degree API oil and 0.6 million cu ft per day of associated gas through a 28/64-inch choke.

The well reached a vertical depth of 2790m.
