Philippines greenlights 11 power projects

The Philippine government has approved 11 power projects, including five hydro power projects, three coal-fired power plants, two solar farms and one biomass project. 

The Department of Energy (DOE) cleared all 11 power projects which will be capable of generating a total of 1,877.9MW of power. 

Three of the cleared projects are traditional power plants, including the 600-MW coal-fired thermal power plant of SMC Global Power Holdings, Inc, the country's biggest power producer.
