Portuguese construction giant, Mota-Engil is aiming to target UK infrastructure jobs as it looks to actively chase work on several of the UK’s largest projects, including HS2 and the Silvertown Tunnel.
The £2 billion turnover company has a workforce of more than 25,000, and recently set up a base in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
“It is a natural step for us to come to the UK where there is a big pipeline of infrastructure work,” said UK Branch Director Luis Moreira da Silva. “We are targeting major projects in sectors like transport and water where we have the skilled people to complete these jobs.”
Contracts Director Patrick Ryle added: “We have worked on some of the biggest project in Ireland and now want to expand in the UK market.”
