Saipem, the Italian drilling company has announced it has been awarded with new contracts worth $850 million.
The contracts are based in Indonesia, the Gulf, Nigeria and Latin America and are predominantly operating within the offshore drilling sector, making up approximately $540 million.
The projects will include the use of four vessels from Saipem’s fleet, and the company announced that the Scarabeo 7 (DW semisub) rig will be used by Eni Muara Bakau for the drilling of at least 12 wells offshore Indonesia.
The project is expected to be completed by early 2017 with the rig remaining under contract with Eni until the following year.
Saipem's onshore drilling unit has been awarded contracts worth $310 million relating to 31 drilling rigs in South America, including Venezuela, Ecuador, Columbia and Peru.
