German wind power firm Senvion has won a deal with EDP Renewables to deliver a 216 MW project in Portugal.
The framework contract will include wind turbines from the Senvion
MM and 3.XM series to be deployed in EDP Renewables’ projects, with the contract running until the end of 2019.
“Portugal has become a true success story for Senvion,” said José Costa, managing director of Senvion Portugal. “This contract is yet another milestone in this key market."
Senvion has production facilities in the central region of Portugal where it will make components for export as well as the local market.
The chief executive of Senivon, Jürgen Geissinger, comments: "We are delighted to sign this contract with EDP Renewables, a major worldwide player in the wind business. Senvion is particularly proud to be selected as their supplier for a major investment and in their home country. For many years, Portugal has been a place of strategic investments for Senvion and our long-term vision is rewarded by this contract."
