Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has launched a new SG 2.7-129 onshore turbine to further grow its market share within the US.
The renewable energy manufacturer is aiming to target sites with medium- to low-wind conditions in the US, according to a company statement.
Siemens has announced that it’s new 2.7MW turbine is equipped with a 129-metre rotor with a swept area 16% greater than that of its predecessor, the SG 2.6-120. Additionally, the new turbine has an annual energy production (AEP) level 8% higher than that from the SG 2.6-120.
Production is expected to commence at the start of 2019.
