Siemens secures €700 Million deal with Libya to build power plants

Siemens has announced it has signed a contract worth over €700 million to build two gas-powered electricity stations in Libya.

The plants which are scheduled to be built in Misurata and Tripoli, will increase Libya’s electricity-generation capacity by 1.3 gigawatts. 

Siemens has been operating in Libya since the 1950s and has publicly announced that close to 30 percent of the nation’s electricity generation runs on its equipment.
