Statkraft, the Norwegian energy giant has purchased six utility-scale solar power plants across the UK.
The plants come as part of a 15 year deal between Statkraft and SunEdison, a leading solar technology manufacturer and provider of solar energy services.
Statkraft has entered into a Power Purchased Agreement for the renewable energy generated from the 88 MW portfolio of solar farms built by SudEdison, who will continue to provide ongoing management and operations services for the plants.
The plants have a combined capacity to generate enough renewable energy to power 20,000 homes.
The deal will place Statkraft at the forefront of the renewable energy sector, and will provide the company with reliable energy to meet the growing demand for renewable energy over the coming years.
