Statoil signs deal with Kvaerner, North Sea

Statoil has signed a contract with Kvaerner for the engineering and steel jacket construction in the North Sea until 2020.
Included in the contract is the delivery of two jackets to the Johan Sverdrup field, including the riser platform and the drilling platform which are known to be the two largest steel jackets at the field centre. They will both be delivered between 2017 and 2018.

The Final Investment Decision for Johan Sverdrup is due by February 2015, following which the contracts for the steel jacket for the accommodation quarters and the processing plant are expected to be awarded.
