Sweden has announced plans to increase its production via renewable energy sources.
With almost 50% of power generation in the country coming directly from green sources, the country is well placed and equipped to continue this production.
As hydropower production is currently high in the country, the focus is on developing bioenergy.
The Eurostat Report, published in May 2014, forecast that by 2020 Europe plans to supply 20% of its energy from renewable sources. Sweden leads the way in reaching these targets and is expected to produce 26.6 GW of energy by the end of 2014.
