Telvent to Provide Integrated Smart Grid Data Services

19 Oct 2012

Entegrus Powerlines has selected Telvent’s Conductor - Meter Data Management (MDM) solution for all operational data in the company’s electrical distribution network, marking the new technology’s first production implementation.

Conductor MDM provides Entegrus with data storage, management, and analysis solution to complement its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). Telvent reports the solution will also help “strengthen the company’s smart grid operations by improving key business processes such as meter data validation, estimation and editing, providing the most accurate information to support better billing and reporting practices, as well as a shorter meter-to-cash cycle.”

Entegrus Powerlines President Dan Charron says, “Telvent has been a trusted partner for several years and we are excited to expand our relationship by integrating the Conductor solution into our existing Telvent suite. This project is strategic to our on-going smart grid initiatives to provide more intelligent service to our customers.”
Conductor MDM can be fully integrated with all other smart grid systems, providing a single-platform smart grid suite, which enables Entegrus to take the most advantage of its AMI data in order to achieve efficiencies and provide better service across its business operations, including outage management, loss prevention and peak load response.

Telvent’s chairman and chief executive officer Ignacio Gonzalez adds: “We are pleased to continue a long and productive relationship with Entegrus by supporting its developing smart grid initiatives. Our technologies are continuing to drive industry innovation and promote the development of smarter and more efficient energy delivery throughout the world.”
