Total brings Norwegian North Sea project on stream 2 months ahead of schedule

According to the French oil major, Total, Ekofisk South in the Norwegian North Sea has been brought on stream about two months ahead of schedule.

The output capacity at Ekofisk South is 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, and the project includes drilling of 35 new production wells and eight injection wells.

Total hold a 39.9% interest in the PL 018 license where the Ekofisk field is located, which is approximately 300 kilometres off the Norwegian coast.

Production at the nearby Eldfisk II project, which falls under the same license, is set to begin in early 2025.
