Turkey to build $3bn power plant in Iran

Turkey’s Unit International has announced plans to invest $3 billion in the construction of a 5,000 MW power plant in Iran. 

According to the report, the Turkish energy firm has already signed a preliminary deal with Iran’s energy minister to build seven natural gas combined cycle power plants in Iran. 

Construction of the plant is scheduled to start in 2017 and is expected to meet 10 per cent of Iran’s total energy needs.
