New research shows that the UK oil and gas sector is expected to create as many as 39,000 jobs over the next two years.
The research, commissioned by the Bank of Scotland, found expectations of employment growth had increase since last year. The survey was carried out on 100 companies.
69% of executives were optimistic about their growth prospects over the coming year and 38% said a shortage of skilled workers would be their greatest challenge.
Although the survey was focused on the oil and gas industry in the UK, most cited international expansion as a key priority for the future (64%). Included in these plans for future investment was Africa, North America and the Middle East.
