Vancouver has committed to running on 100% renewable energy within the next two decades.
The city, which has 600,000 inhabitants, aims to use only green energy sources for electricity, heating and cooling, and transportation.

More than 50 cities have announced they are on track to hit 100% renewable energy capacity, including San Diego, San Francisco, Sydney and Copenhagen.

Seoul in South Korea has announced that it is rolling out 40,000 solar panels to households by 2018 and 15,000 electric vehicles. The country hopes to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% by 2030.
