Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured contracts from Brulles Eolica and CYL Energia Eolica to supply turbines with a total generating capacity of 92MW for two wind energy projects in Burgos, Spain.
The company will be responsible for civil and electrical works, supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines for the turnkey projects.
Vestas will deliver 20 units of its V90-2MW turbine each with a 105m hub height for the Brulles wind power plant and 26 units of the V90-2MW turbine for the Zapateros wind farm.
The contracts also include a VestasOnline Business SCADA system, a condition monitoring system, as well as a 12-year service agreement including the active output management package AOM4000 for both projects.
Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2011 and the wind farms are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2012.
The power projects are expected to produce 321,500MWh of electricity per year and avoid about 125,385 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
AOM 4000 is a full-scope service contract, consisting of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and consumables, which offers risk management for customers, Vestas said.
Brulles Eolica and CYL Energia Eolica belong to VAPAT, a Spanish company with experience in wind energy projects.
