The venture will allow YDF and American Energy Partners to jointly develop shale gas from the Vaca Muerta formation within South America. Both companies plan to collectively invest over $447 million toward advancing a pilot project during an initial three-year phase.
“We’re adding a partner that will bring high level expertise to develop gas and oil shale and we believe our learning curve will be boosted,” said YPF Chief Executive Officer, Miguel Galuccio.
YPF and American Energy Partners are expected to drill 20 wells and construct gas-treatment facilities, according to officials. Click here
