Area Sales Manager - South Coast

Reporting to the General Sales Manager you will be accountable for exceeding predetermined territory targets on volume, profit, market share and geographical coverage of your territory which includes house brand dealer network, car dealerships, independent tyre dealers and national equity chains.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

*Full management and control of geographical area
*Identification and achievement of customer potential
*Identification and securing new business opportunities
*Input into logistics & pricing strategy
*Develop and implement added value business plans in those independent retail accounts classified as Key Accounts
*Implementing the company sales strategy in the following sales channels:
oIndependent Sectors
oEquity
oVehicle Main Agents
oHouse brand networks
*Identification of potential key accounts and the provide full support to maximise business potential

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales:
*In line with Company criteria, nominate independent retailers that, when authorised by the General Sales Manager, would be classed as 'Key Accounts' and would be managed using an 'added value' approach.
*Identify 'strategic' accounts that would require a constructive business plan, but would not require or be suitable for, the 'added value' approach seen in Key Accounts
*Develop long-term business relationships by the implementation of well- structured business development plans
*Utilise and maximise company resources, including marketing and product knowledge
*Adopt a structured customer management approach to include call reporting and 'next actions' in every case
*On-going monitoring and review of sales results and progress and implement corrective actions where required

*Ensure appropriate and effective communication lines with internal Account Managers
*Communicate and promote sales activity in the account, e.g. sales 'specials'
*In VMA - Equity - House brand accounts, ensure that all Company strategy, goals and local actions are communicated, supported and driven
*Communicate and drive sales activity in the account, e.g. sales 'specials'
*Provide regular feedback to all management
*Support those accounts that are the responsibility of the internal Account Managers by providing a field presence
*Dual call with Account Managers

Customer:
Coach and develop Managers to deliver excellent customer service to the teams.
To ensure consistently high levels of customer service are delivered from each office and by all account managers and to develop 'potential sales' by using the full sales tools and processes

Operational Excellence:
*Ensure that all company administrative procedures are adhered to.
*Ensure that the appropriate responses are made in a timely fashion to requests / instructions from Management / Head Office.
*Ensure all team members have read, understood and action all points in the employee handbook as they become relevant.
*Train the office managers and sales teams particularly on telesales, selling skills, account management and account development.
