The BESS Director, Technical Sales will be a subject matter expert supporting Business Development and Pre-Construction at the client. The role requires providing timely and accurate subject matter expertise to the business development process for stand-alone BESS and hybrid PV+BESS projects from initial partner engagement through construction and beyond. The successful candidate will be the lead technical interface for BESS solutions for all external and internal stakeholders, including BESS OEMs/integrations, EMS providers, developers/owners, and internal teams such as business development, engineering, estimating, and procurement.
The BESS Director, Technical Sales will participate in design and pricing reviews to ensure proposals meet the project requirements and partner expectations in an economically efficient manner. The successful candidate will also advise clients on BESS vendor, technology, and performance metrics to enable clients to select the best solutions for their needs. The role requires maintaining market-leading expertise in the utility scale BESS segment with a focus on understanding the trade-off between various vendors and system design choices.
Additionally, the BESS Director, Technical Sales will bring new ideas and solutions to continuously improve the client's stand-alone BESS and PV+BESS offerings. The successful candidate will develop and maintain a database of available solutions with critical specifications and pricing as a reference for internal and external stakeholders. They will also maintain strong industry relationships and develop a robust professional network to stay informed and maintain access to key partners and stakeholders.
