The Company:
Our client is an exciting and innovative international Consultancy specialising in the Power &; Utilities industries. Their business focuses on 4 key disciplines; Business Transformation, Operations, Networks and Digital Enterprise. The Role:
The Business Development Manager will seek and develop opportunities within the Energy and Water network solutions team. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate strategies and implement the businesses goals while identifying new business prospects and support the development of a sales pipeline. The Business Development Manager will continue to develop and maintain vital relationships with both new and existing clients within the utility and energy sector engaging with the client at all stages of the process from initial introduction, presales and bidding with effective close. This role will involve proactive partnerships with colleagues in other CoEs, both in the UK and further afield. In addition to this the successful Business Development Manager will also collaborate with other teams such as Execution Excellence, Marketing, Legal, Technology and Finance.

Accountabilities:
*Understand the solution offerings and competition issues in order to fully support the sale route.
*Produce market research and develop a target approach to focus on specific markets in order to support the sales growth.
*Assist the development of client relationships by working alongside other teams within the business.
*Create and maintain a pipeline of potential clients working with departments to ensure effective close of new business.
*Initiate introductory calls, schedule meetings and seek out opportunities within the market.
*Support a variety of teams with presentations, conferences and events and assist with negotiations including close of sales.
*Create and maintain strong relationships with vital establishments in order to raise the brand and reputation of the company while supporting its influence within the sector.
*Use the CRM system and produce a detailed sales pipeline and progress report on a monthly basis.
* Work alongside marketing and communication teams to guarantee collateral is accurate and reflects the teams product and vision.
*Manage the placing of the CoE within the business to inspire cross referrals.
*Promote improvement and support the development and deliverance of your responsibilities through innovative and critical thinking.

Personal Specification:
*Undergraduate relevant degree
*Master's degree beneficial
*A Minimum of 7 years' experience in the utility/ energy sector with exposure of renewables, water, power and gas and SMART energy solutions.
*Proven business development experience within utility/ energy sector.
*Capacity to undertake presales activity including market trends and market analysis.
*Willingness to travel across the UK.
*Strong and experienced networker able to develop relationships and manage stakeholders.
*Be results driven
*Able to expertly influence, negotiate and build relationships with clients.

Please not that the successful candidate must have experience in the utilities sector.
