Job Role Summary:
*Support and builds the technical decision making process at Chemical manufacturing sites. The technical decision making process at the manufacturing sites is improved through fundamental chemical engineering models and monitoring reports for key pieces of process equipment
*These key pieces of equipment include select distillation towers, heat exchangers, compressors, and furnaces. The models allow for first principles analysis of equipment performance, trends in reliability and efficiency, and opportunities for improved performance and capacity.
*build models of key equipment, validate the model with plant data, and then use the model to analyze the current technical performance of the piece of equipment. This will be done in conjunction with data trending analysis (called performance monitoring), to enable the Engineer to analyze trends in equipment performance.
*The goal will be to complete the above steps on a predetermined frequency to identify trends in reliability and energy performance, make recommendations to the site technical group to maintain top performance, and to identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and/or capacity.
*The workscope of the Engineer will include the following 3 components:
1. Building Engineering Models and Validate the Models for key equipment
2. Complete Engineering models and/or monitoring reports to provide data trending analysis and assessment of plant operations.
3. Supporting and participating in engineering studies with the site utilizing the models and monitoring reports
Expected Level of Proficiency:
*Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant Engineering Bachelor of Science degree from a recognized university
