One of our leading EPC Clients is looking to hire a Civil Engineer with a 2-5 years experience. This is an Engineering position responsible for supporting Engineering Services and EPC project management support for high voltage substation foundation and structural design. You will have an active role in helping develop substation design processes, standards, and custom designs for foundations and steel structures for all EPC and Engineering Services projects.

Responsibilities are as follows: 

  • Review equipment specification/data sheets for foundation and steel design.
  • Technically evaluate vendor proposals for major equipment for foundation and steel design.
  • Proficient knowledge of various substation designs to correspond to physical design standards.
  • Implement design standards for various structures and foundations.
  • Develop steel and foundation designs to Client standards
  • Develop engineering expertise to evaluate GeoTech Reports and Soil Reports.
  • Support pre-bid meetings and documentation by evaluating GeoTech Reports.
  • Implement GeoTech Report data into engineering and design processes. 
  • Develop and maintain a system for evaluating design quality control and metrics for long term management of design group (internal or external).
  • Provide proper documentation for project drawings and other project documentation.
  • Provide detailed steel and foundation drawings with proper bills of material.
  • Review steel and foundation detail drawings for design accuracy and quality control.
  • Working knowledge of design software such as MFAD, STAAD, PLS-Pole, ACAD Inventor, and other comparable design software.
  • Develop skills to write technical documentation for steel and foundation calculations.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering License (Desirable)
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Familiarity with ACAD Inventor, STAAD, PLS-Pole and other design software
