The Completions Engineer is responsible for supporting all Completions programs in support of rig operations. This position will work closely with the Subsurface department in proposing optimum Completion designs for new wells, work-overs of existing wells and non-rig well interventions. Additionally, this role will be involved in the preparation of contracts and tenders; the provision of technical projects/studies; and the preparation of reports where required.
*Ensuring all appropriate actions are taken to implement the HS&E procedures and legislative requirements;
*Monitoring safety performance within area of responsibility;
*Demonstrating commitment to safety through leadership and participating in safety initiatives;
*Ensuring all staff and contractors are appropriately trained to the company's safety standards and complying with safety procedures.
*Ensure optimized completion design and operation in line with best technical practices and in consultation with all relevant technical department specialists and department heads.
*Ensure contractor 'buy in' of well completion well intervention objectives and programmes through early involvement of contractor 'Product Lines' in design & installation issues
*Forecast and plan medium and long term equipment needs to meet programme requirements.
*Prepare technical specifications and work-scopes for related tenders & contracts.
*Review Well Offset data and carry out completion designs ensuring that that wells are optimised for production whilst maintaining HSE and technical standards.
*Produce 'fit for purpose' completion programmes for each Completion or intervention activity in compliance with policies and standards (Ensuring timely delivery to all users).
*Anticipate operational changes, prepare and issue programme updates as required.
*Liaise with contractor representatives to ensure that they are aware of detailed operational requirements and programme details
*Provide Engineering support to the Offshore Drilling Superintendent as required.
*Contribute towards continuous improvement through the challenge of existing practices & procedures, and initiate performance improvements
*Ensure event assessment or equipment failure reports are used to capture downtime events and that feedback is received and recorded
Desired Skills and Experience
*BSc in Engineering.
*Formal Education in Completion design & installation from a recognised industry source.
*Formal, current, Well Control Certification at Supervisor Level for Surface BOP Stack or for Well Services operations.
*5-10 years Oilfield experience, of which 3 years should have been at the Wellsite.
*Two years minimum in a responsible position on the rig or in the office.
