About the Role

As the Contracts Lead, you will be supporting a project in all aspects of commercial practices including compliance, contract administration, claims, reporting and financial process. Reporting to the Project Manager with guidance and support from the Executive - Commercial, Contracts and Procurement, your main responsibilities will include;

  • Preparing subcontractor packages & subcontract administration;
  • Conducting commercial evaluation, review contract terms and conditions, contributing to scope as required;
  • Reviewing contractual claims and variations; 
  • Liaising and effectively communicating with subcontractors; and
  • Prepare project cost and forecasting reporting.

About You 

As the Contracts Lead you will have the following experience, knowledge, and skills to bring to the role.

Experience 

  • Experience as a Contracts Lead dealing with subcontractor packages with a value of $10M - $50M.
  • Experience in the Energy/Mining industry
  • Experience using Pronto is desirable

The individual needs to be located within driving distance to each of the facilities to be accessible for the required as needed day trips to the projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned as needed) - Develop environmental compliance programs for each project encompassing all local, state and federal permitting requirements.- Manage and perform field environmental audits, reporting, and monitoring for construction projects and renewable energy facilities.- Review technical reports and provide quality assurance of project documents with a focus on compliance of permit conditions, procedures, and regulatory agency regulations for projects in the development stage through execution stage.- Working closely with EPC and contractors/consultants to ensure project compliance providing guidance, interpretation, and requirements.- Initiate support with development team during late-stage entitlement and resource agency permit procurement to provide seamless transition to construction- Ensure seamless transition to operational compliance.- Review cost budgets, seek proposals and support contracting, invoicing, work plans, and execution strategies for the environmental compliance responsibilities.- Manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.- Coordinate if asked with local, state and federal agencies on the project's behalf.- If requested, present training materials and documents. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - At least 3 years of environmental and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be skilled in permitting, site acquisition, land lease negotiations, etc. as well as have the following qualifications:Project Development Lead cross-functional project teams to bring wind, solar and storage developments from prospecting stages through land acquisition, design, permitting, and offtake contracting, up to the start of constructionRetain day-to-day project development across southern United States (SPP South, ERCOT, MISO South, TVA, SERCEvaluate project sites for utility-scale renewable projects & bring them through the due diligence processSecure zoning permits, tax abatements, crossing agreements and road use agreementsLead the negotiation of permitting documents and interconnection agreements in close coordination with EPC DepartmentConduct or Coordinate site visits to support site evaluation, suitability, and due diligence effortDevelop scopes for technical services and manage relationships with contractors and third-party engineering firmManage distribution interconnection process and interface with Utilities/regional transmission operators for development portfolioEngaging consultants to prepare critical issues analysis, natural resource surveys, cultural resource analysis, geotechnical surveys, wetland delineations, and phase one environmental site assessmentsPrepared and submitted solar energy interconnection requests · Support the negotiation of Power Purchase Agreement  Qualifications Expertise in utility sized solar and wind projects throughout project lifecycleBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Environmental, or related field)5+ years of experience developing projects / project engineering from discovery to start-up
