Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in IT, computer science, business administration, and engineering or decision sciences including mathematics, analytics, and quantitative methods. The candidate must have at least eight years of experience in designing, developing, implementing and operating technologies in one or more IT domains, e.g. applications, data, solution, infrastructure, process change management or comparable experience in other fields. The candidate must possess three to five years of managerial experience. Master's Degree and/or certification in project management or cyber security standards is preferred. The candidate must be able to motivate, challenge and develop technical staff of 15 or more people supporting 24/7 operation of electric distribution control centers; set and drive goals; must have the ability to plan, lead and manage projects with varying timelines; develop project plans, and budgets; prepare and review reports; present technical information to various audience including senior leadership, internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner; analyze complex technical problems and develop and communicate effective solutions to non-technical audience; must be able to engage stakeholders and openly communicate; make decisions and operate effectively under emergency conditions; possess excellent oral and written communication skills; develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; must possess the ability to direct multiple assignments with changing priorities and meet deadlines; must be flexible and able to work off-hours as required to support deployments, resolve business system production problems or respond to corporate emergencies. The ideal candidate should have experience with developing personnel through coaching and training; experience in communicating complex technical and operational issues to non-expert policy-makers and stakeholders; demonstrated sound decision-making and communication skills relative to utility SCADA systems, utility cyber security standards and high availability data center operations including normal and emergency operations; experienced in developing and managing projects and budgets, and driving projects to successful completion; sound ethical and business judgment while demonstrating creative problem solving and mature professional communications. Knowledge of the electrical distribution system design and planning; electric system restoration and outage management; utility operations is a plus. The candidate should be safety-focused, including experience with OSHA and similar compliance
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain 24/7 operational reliability and cyber security of the electric distribution control centers. This includes development, maintenance and support of electric distribution SCADA and engineering applications; secure operation and maintenance of geographically diverse data centers for control centers; implementation, support and monitoring of cyber security technologies; compliance with reliability and cyber security policies and programs; oversight of projects along tactical (1-2 year) and strategic (3-5 year) timelines. The role also requires working with technology partners in IT operations including infrastructure, network planning and cyber security and business partners in Distribution Engineering and Electric Operations Control Centers to design, develop and implement standards, procedures and technical training for reliable operation of control centers.
