As a Deepwater Subsea Engineer, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and fast paced environment. In this position the Deepwater Subsea Engineer will be responsible for performing the maintenance and repair of all subsea-related systems.
This position is located Houston, TX and works a 9/80 work schedule.
This position may require periodic travel offshore.
*Establish and promote safety and environmental performance expectations with employees and
contractors in accordance with the Company's safety policies and Safe + Sound initiative.
*Coordinate the installation of blow out prevention (BOP) equipment with the drilling department
*Maintain an accurate condition evaluation of blow out prevention equipment, heave compensating and other related subsea equipment
*Perform all daily control/maintenance of well control equipment: BOP, MUX control system, riser,slip joint, riser tensioning system, kill/choke manifold, compensating equipment and all other associated well control equipment
*Assist in running and testing the wellhead, casing hangers and seal assemblies
*Manages the installation of wellheads on the seabed and the flow lines joining them to the platform
*Assist in the development, operation and recovery of the riser and tensioning system in accordance with well specific operating guidelines and engineering riser analysis
*Ensure that approved rig operating procedures are adhered to at all times
*Review and lead safe work plans for subsea equipment handling and installation
*Interfacing between contractors and sub-contractors to efficiently carry out work safely, onschedule, and within budget.
*B.S. or M.S. in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering or related field required
*Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a subsea role
*Must have a good understanding of the offshore and subsea oil and gas industry, technologies and installation methods
*Must have knowledge of hydraulic, electric IT components and configurations for subsea BOP equipment
