My client is currently resourcing for an experienced Grid Delivery Engineer who will be responsible for the management and design of grid connection assets for the clients pipeline of solar and storage projects. They will work as part of a leading independent solar and storage development platform in the UK & Ireland, delivering solar and storage projects from origination through the development process. Duties and Responsibilities Support the delivery of Elgin Energy’s project pipeline to energisation by providing electrical engineering guidance and management throughout the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.Report to senior management on progress of all grid connection construction activities across the portfolio.Review, in conjunction with the wider team, contractor designs, processes and commercial proposals.Provide technical advice to the senior management team to ensure all grid connection factors during the build process are appropriately considered and risk assessed and that the most efficient, cost effective and safe proposals are pursued in line with company requirementsProactively identify and solve problems as they arise, taking preventative measures to avoid risks to the project schedule and budget. Manage and report on deviations from project schedules, budgets or scope.Support project construction and commissioning activities by co-ordinating and witnessing testing activities, analysing plant performance, and working pro-actively with Network Operators to resolve issues.Co-ordinate with the Construction Lead to ensure safe, efficient and cost effective delivery of the grid connection elements of the pipeline and to progressively establish sound CDM standards, systems and procedures for construction activities.Review all relevant documentation and provide input at the concept design, detailed design and construction phases to ensure successful project delivery while also maintaining compliance with Construction, Health & Safety and Grid Code standards and requirements. The company has a portfolio of projects in late-stage development totalling 6GW solar and 3GW storage across three key markets of the UK, Australia, and Ireland. As of 2022, they agreed to sell the UK’s largest solar PV transaction to date consisting of a portfolio of 12 projects with a combined capacity of 519MW of projects including 70MW of collocated energy storage capacity to Scottish Power Renewables (UK) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of global utility Iberdrola Group.
