Job Description

*To evaluate review, and interpret geophysical, geological and engineering data in order to define the configuration of oil and gas fields, thus contributing to the effective management of the company's hydrocarbon reserves and production.
*Key member of a geotechnical team comprising geologists, geophysicists and engineers charged with optimising oil and gas field development in a complex, stacked-pay environment.
*Understand the regional geological picture and integrate that knowledge into the reservoir model
*Select initial well locations from existing 2D seismic data set, procedure well prognoses, statements of requirements, monitor well operations and aid coordination of well drilling activities with the drilling / operations team.
*Help prepare new and updated Field Development Plans.
*Develop coring, logging and Petrophysical programs.
*Evaluate new wells on the structure and integrate new data into geological models.
*Build 3D static reservoir models.
*Integrate assessment of seismic facies analysis in conjunction with Senior Geophysicist.
*Facilitate up-scaling of static models for dynamic modeling.
*Represent Company at technical meetings with co-ventures and host government regulators
*Mentor junior staff and recommend appropriate training.

Key Requirements

*BSc in relevant Geoscience subject,
*10+ years related experience in the upstream oil and gas sector.
*Substantial all round geological experience, primarily with operators in an asset geologist role
*Expert user of current state of the art geological modeling software (e.g. Petrel)
*Highly experience in field appraisal and development
*Experienced in sedimentology, structural geology, well planning, log analysis, sequence stratigraphy, geochemistry, facies analysis and basin analysis
*Knowledge of reservoir engineering
*Experience working in Malaysia essential.
