An exciting job opportunity has arisen with a global consultancy for a Director to lead their North England business unit for cost consultancy and project management. Reporting to the business unit leader, the Director will lead all project and cost consultancy practice across the region.
The role will be ideally based in Manchester while servicing Liverpool and Leeds also, however they will consider candidates to be based in any of the three locations. They have a proven track record across the region of successfully carrying out project and cost management work with many high profile clients and some of the largest projects within the North England region.
Reporting to the business unit leader the Director will have sector expertise within buildings and ideally across both private and public sector. You will work closely with the Infrastructure Lead Director to develop an integrated leadership team across the region. The Director will also be a key member of the national project and cost consultancy team. The role will involve direct client liaising as well as leading the account management together with overseeing all overall project and commercial management. You will be expected to have a passion for delivering high quality service as well as spearheading the implementation for best practice and continuous improvement.
You will contribute to the overall and operational management of the North region where you will be expected to act day to day interfacing with clients and ensuring all objectives are met. As a leader of the buildings project and cost consultancy division there will be a specific responsibility for business development and marketing. As Director you will be expected to provide strategic guidance, audit and review to a portfolio of projects being lead within the cost centre. You will be responsible for providing effective line management to Associate Directors, Senior QS; QS and AQS.
To be successful in this role it is extremely important that you can demonstrate strong leadership skills within project and commercial management as well as in leading and mentoring teams. You will be responsible for ensuring that all staff have received current and relevant training. You will manage the delivery of team outputs and will coordinate and sign off all management information produced by the team prior to issue. To succeed you will secure business new client through strong business development and will manage all tender documentation, appraisals and negotiations.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate leadership experience in a comparator business, have a proven track record of managing teams, demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills and will be highly driven with an excellent industry network. Commercial experience will be essential as well as a proven track record of winning and retaining clients.
